OK so this is the 1st 2 color silk screen ive done.
i kinda fucked up the registration and i didn't put enough water in my ink when i mixed it ... it started to dry in my screen which is why i inclued 2 of the prints... one at the beginning of printing and one twards the end ... you can see the diffrence.
Looks great man! However, I see what you mean about the ink filling in. You started losing some of the deatils near the end. Still cool though! Registration on something like this doesn't seem to be a bid deal though. It's kinda' nice to see some of the areas out of registration. It adds to the quality of the piece.
Nice.
i'm envious, bro. the last time i did silk screens was in middle school and i had to screen a golden retriever in purple on the back of a white shirt. that wasn't my idea. believe me. these turned out superbly though.

lol, we never had that shit in middle school. We had it in highschool ... but it was like part of an obscure shop class, NOT part of the art department.
i taught myself to silk screen about a year ago, but shit man with all the nice shit ive got at school, makes it like idiot proof haha.
NOt really .. but everything you need is just there and ready to use. So its nice.
Thanx for the comment
yeah, mine was in a middle school shop class too. our first project was a flipbook, and i think our last assignment was working in the darkroom. i think silkscreening was the second to last thing we did. i've considered just stretching a screen and doing it at home, but i will agree that having all you need ready at hand is pretty convenient.

you can from your computer ... if you have a lazer jet you can probably use vellum and it works the same as the ones that print on acitate ... im pritty sure they have kits now a days that u can use.... tho i do sudjest NOT using a bubble jet or ink jet, cus if you try to do a dot pattern, the ink jet will use dots to make the dot pattern. Dots making dots is not the same as DOTS, your screen could come out funky.
but yea sketchingout one would be easy too. The hardest part is getting the photo emulsion to go even, and also creating the correct ratio of emulsion to sensitiser. after that its pritty much cream cheese ;D
